Willis R. Warner, 92, of Loudonville, died Tuesday morning, December 19, 2017 in The Good Shepherd Home, Ashland following a short illness. Will was born April 6, 1925 in Coshocton and was the son of the late William and Estella May (Reed) Warner. He was a 1943 graduate of Tiverton High School and a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the Armored Cavalry of the European Theatre where he received a Purple Heart. Following his military service, Will lived in Mansfield and Millersburg before settling in Loudonville to work the next 40 years with McClain’s Television and Appliance as their serviceman. He enjoyed fixing and repairing things throughout his retirement years. Will was a member of the Rotary Club of Loudonville and American Legion Post 257.
He is survived by his son, Michael A. Warner of Lewis Center, and his sister, Ava Englehardt of Walnut Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Arthur and Harold Warner; and two sisters: Lucille Englehardt and Helen Horn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 23 at 10:30am in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE. Burial with military honors conducted by the American Legion and VFW will follow in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-7pm in Lindsey Funeral Home. The family request memorial contributions be given to the Golden Center of Loudonville, c/o Catholic Charities, 34 W. Second Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805; or Loudonville Public Library, 122 East Main Street, Loudonville, Ohio 44842.
